Animal Rescue League seeks foster families for the holidays Berks Regional News

CUMRU TWP., Pa. - The Animal Rescue League of Berks County has opened applications for individuals interested in becoming short-term fosters for the holidays. The goal of the program is to give shelter pets a chance to enjoy the warmth and happiness of the season in the comfort of a loving home. Although HAL’s sanctuary is located in Minnesota, we choose not to reveal our exact location in an effort to protect some of the animals from their previous life and “owners”. Many of these dogs have been seized by law enforcement because of severe neglect and cruelty. While the majority of the animals we support are dogs, HAL is also home to horses, cats, pigs, roosters, and a few birds. Others were rescued from various circumstances, abandonment being the most common.

Fostering is such a rewarding experience and is vital to our goal of placing rescued dogs into new permanent homes. The Sponsor a Pet program is handled by The Petfinder Foundation, a 5013 nonprofit organization, to ensure that shelters and rescue groups receive donations in the easiest way possible. Please click OK below and a new tab will open where you can sponsor a pet’s care.

Adoption Policy

To trust despite having been beaten, starved and neglected is the bravest thing a dog can do. We also ask that you fill out an Adoption Application, and a Pet Adoption Agreement to help us ensure that our animals are going to loving, stable homes. Please keep in mind that we are a non-profit organization and that your donation will not only help us to save more animals, it's also fully tax-deductible. We kindly ask for your support even if you are unable to adopt at this time. Education can be helpful in creating a more favorable environment for pets and homeless pets. We aim to assist via our social media posts, blog posts and YouTube series that can provide health and play tidbits.

Most PA county shelters get tax-payer funding and large corporate donations to support them so they can afford to let their animals go for a lower fee than we can. Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue is a public volunteer, non-profit organization rescuing and rehabilitating horses and domestic companion animals. LCR provides a safe and secure refuge for abused, unwanted or neglected animals and has a new facility that can be used for temporary housing for any species in the event of a disaster.

Some of Our Cats

With access to affordable veterinarian care, we can get sick dogs and cats on the road to recovery in short order. As a foster based rescue, our animals live in homes with our families and our personal pets so we are able to learn a great deal about them and work on preparing them for their forever home. There is no greater feeling than releasing these wonderful animals into a safe yard and watching them run and play as they should. They sleep curled up in soft beds in our homes when hours before they laid on concrete floors. They feel grass beneath their feet when many have never experienced the outdoors.

Since inception, All 4 Paws Rescue has saved over 14,000 needy animals and continues to grow and save lives daily. For most of the animals rescued by All 4 Paws, we are their last chance. Many reside in shelters that are not even open to the public but are instead holding facilities where the animals go to die. Many come from commercial breeding facilities that throw them away like trash when they are no longer useful for breeding purposes or not fit for sale. Puppies, purebreds, family pets - these are animals you would never expect to end up in these horrible situations but it is a sad reality. Through our extensive rescue network, All 4 Paws has developed relationships nationwide that allow us to save countless lives that would otherwise have been ended.

Other Cats Needing New Homes

After a dog experiences any or all of these traumas, the anxiety-related behaviors become entrenched and it becomes nearly impossible to find a home able to tolerate and willing to rehabilitate the dog. Special thanks to our partners The Wildestand PetBasics, whose support makes our life-saving work possible. Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in North Wales, PA.

These cats are the sole responsibility of the rescuers, whose contact details can be found in the descriptions. Our fees range from $195 to $450 depending on age, medical treatments completed, etc. All dogs leave our facility up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing/preventative, flea/tick treatments, and microchipped. Last Chance Ranch is a non-profit Animal Rescue located in Southeast Pennsylvania serving the tri-state area and beyond.

Even after 6 months or 6 years, we are still here for you if you would ever need a home or help with your adopted pet. We also offer a lifetime of support and advice if necessary to help you work through any issues with your new adopted pet and your family. Our adoption fees help pay for the spaying/neutering, health care and food for rescued dogs, horses, cats and other companion animals that live at the rescue. If it seems high to you then you should reconsider adopting an animal as the cost of veterinary, preventative, and personal care over the life of an animal is not something to be taken lightly. All 4 Paws Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based, all-breed, no-kill animal rescue based in Malvern, PA that offers rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary to animals in need. Our goal is to offer each and every one of these animals a safe, permanent and loving home.

HAL's open spaces and constant access to warm places offers an ideal location for these fearful and feral dogs. They can recover from the trauma they experience on their own terms. Feral dogs are confined for a few days until they learn the feeding routine, and then are allowed to come and go in and out of the house and the dog "house" at will. These dogs quickly learn that there will be no pressure from their human caretakers to interact. They come in for meals and warmth, and sometimes to observe from a distance as the other dogs get hugs, ear scratches, and belly rubs! It is perhaps the most rewarding experience at HAL when a feral dog reaches out for the very first time.

Holding an animal in a foster home would mean we'd have less space available for animals that are in life or death situations and need our help. If you are interested in a specific animal that is ready for adoption, you must be prepared to adopt right away. The adoption fee for puppies between 8 weeks to 6 months is $450 and for any dog more than 6 months old is $400.

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. We are a group of dog loving volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters, puppymills, as well dogs in other unfortunate circumstances. Most of the dogs and cats presented on our pages have been rescued from the Animal Shelter in Berkeley, California and are now living in temporary foster homes with incredibly caring people. They have all been spayed or neutered, and are up to date on their shots.
