We also offer a lifetime of support and advice if necessary to help you work through any issues with your new adopted pet and your family. Our adoption fees help pay for the spaying/neutering, health care and food for rescued dogs, horses, cats and other companion animals that live at the rescue. All 4 Paws Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based, all-breed, no-kill animal rescue based in Malvern, PA that offers rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary to animals in need. An adoption fee is necessary to cover the cost of spaying/neutering, medicating, and caring for dogs that often come from situations of neglect and sickness. We also pay the shelters a fee for every dog we rescue and sometimes have to pay a driver to transport them from shelters to our foster homes in PA and out of harm’s way. Without charging our own fee, we could not afford to do our work.

Oftentimes an in-home visit and observation session can lead to changes in the adopting family that leads to success and a happy home for a troubled dog. HAL works to direct adoptable dogs to the appropriate adoption rescue. HAL works closely with multiple adoption groups; hence can provide networking assistance for dogs looking for homes. With access to affordable veterinarian care, we can get sick dogs and cats on the road to recovery in short order. As a foster based rescue, our animals live in homes with our families and our personal pets so we are able to learn a great deal about them and work on preparing them for their forever home. There is no greater feeling than releasing these wonderful animals into a safe yard and watching them run and play as they should. They sleep curled up in soft beds in our homes when hours before they laid on concrete floors. They feel grass beneath their feet when many have never experienced the outdoors.
We are a group of volunteers whose goal is to save the lives of homeless dogs suffering in high-kill shelters, as well as owner-surrender dogs who need to be re-homed due to unfortunate circumstances. We are not a shelter, and we have no central location for the dogs we rescue. We pull dogs from various shelters and provide foster homes until they are adopted. In doing so, we hope to provide an alternative to the purchase of puppy mill and pet store dogs, thereby reducing the demand for, and ultimately, the supply of, such dogs. We strive to match each dog with the right family after the dog has been observed in a foster home. While we hope all our dogs find their exact forever home the first time they get placed, sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Holding an animal in a foster home would mean we'd have less space available for animals that are in life or death situations and need our help. The adoption fee for puppies between 8 weeks to 6 months is $450 and for any dog more than 6 months old is $400.

These dogs are very difficult to place because their life expectancy is, of course, unpredictable, and short by comparison. They also often have chronic health concerns that are expensive to treat. They are given necessary medications along with joint supplements, any pain control necessary, and lots of soft places to lay their old bones.
Once approved we will call to schedule a specific appointment time. Before coming to our facility you MUST have an approved application on file. In essence, these humans become the "pack" in which the dog lives.
These dogs have a higher adoption fee of $650 and the additional fee collected helps fund expensive surgeries for medical dogs that we have. We only adopt out dogs that have been spayed or neutered to ensure that no dog adopted from Home At Last will be used for breeding. A home visit and reference/vet check will be done to determine the best placement of our dogs.
